LAHORE: The city received scattered rains yesterday, providing much needed relief to the people from the prevailing muggy weather.

After a hot and humid day, strong winds started blowing in the afternoon that followed by scattered rains, causing decrease in the mercury level.

Maximum and minimum temperature was recorded 35 degree Celsius and 26C respectively. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded 70 percent.

According to the experts, weak seasonal low lies over north Balochistan. A shallow trough of westerly wave is affecting upper parts of the country. Eastern currents are penetrating in South-eastern parts of the country.

Meteorological department has forecast partly cloudy weather with chances gusty winds and rains for Lahore during the next couple of days. Rain with dust-thunderstorm is expected at isolated places in Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Mardan, Kohat, Bannu, DI Khan, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Lahore, Multan, Fata, Islamabad, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.–Staff Reporter
