MOSCOW:- An airstrike targeting Taliban militants hit a wedding procession in the southern Afghan province of Kandahar, killing three women and a child, and injuring eight others, local media reported. The incident occurred in the Abu Qala village located in Kandahar’s Maruf district. As Taliban vehicles mixed with the procession of cars carrying wedding guests, the country’s air force conducted an airstrike targeting the militants, which also caused civilian casualties, the Pajhwok news agency reported.

Gen Abdul Raziq, the chief of the Kandahar police, confirmed the airstrike and casualties, adding that 10 Taliban militants were killed. He said that the air force sought avoiding civilian casualties.–Sputnik
