Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan has said that the federal government is committed to the welfare of people of Balochistan and development and progress of the province.

He was called on him by the Balochistan Governor Justice (r) Amanullah Khan Yasinzai and Chief Minister Jam Kamal in Quetta on Saturday. The PM said that all out resources would be utilised in consultation with all stakeholders to achieve these objectives.

“The government is fully committed to develop Balochistan and help the people of this province in achieving a good lifestyle,” the PM said. They also discussed overall situation and in particular the pace of development and welfare projects in the province.

The PM, along with Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Jam Kamal Khan and lead federal ministers also visited the Southern Command Headquarters at Quetta Cantt on Saturday.

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa received the PM at Quetta Air Base. According to ISPR, a detailed briefing on security situation of the province, challenges and response was given.

PM was also briefed about socio-economic development based Khushal Balochistan program, security of CPEC projects and progress of fencing along Pak-Afghan border.

The COAS said that having achieved stability in troubled areas of KP, lately our focus has been on Balochistan which is economic future of Pakistan. The PM appreciated the security forces’ contributions towards improving peace, stability and socio-economic development of the province.

Imran said that through a comprehensive national effort, cooperation between federal and provincial governments along with the assistance of the Army, the true potential of Balochistan could be realised.
