OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE Three additional judges of the Lahore High Court on Monday took oath as confirmed judges. Chief Justice Ijaz Ahmad Chaudhry administered the oath to them. They include Justice Sagheer Ahmad Qadri, Justice Khwaja Imtiaz Ahmad and Justice Muhammad Qasim Khan. The oath-taking ceremony was held at the Committee Room of the LHC and was attended by the LHC judges, Law Officers, and families of the confirmed judges. President Asif Ali Zardari, following advice of the Prime Minister, had given his assent on August 24 to their confirmation. Justice Sagheer Ahmad Qadri and Justice Kh. Imtiaz Ahmad were appointed as ad hoc judges for one year on September 15, 2009. Justice Muhammad Qasim Khan was appointed as ad hoc judge on February 19, 2010. Meanwhile, the president of the Lahore High Court Bar Association has called the General House Meeting on September 8 to decide on inviting former Sindh senior minister Zulfiqar Mirza to deliver his address on the national issues facing the country. A requisition to invite Mirza to address the bar has been filed by the members Arfan Aizad advocate and Syed Zulfiqar Ali Bokhari advocate with signatures of 20 other lawyers as supporters. The House will be vote on the requisition on September 8.
