OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE A 7-year-old boy who was abducted for Rs 2 million ransom from the Nolakha area about one month and a half ago was on Monday recovered but dead from a village near Kasur, police said. The investigators said that the killers, including one relative of the deceased, have been arrested. Amman Ali, son of Karamat Ali, was on his way to school when kidnapped from Bilal Colony. His kidnappers took him to some unknown location. Later, the kidnappers contacted the parents of the boy and demanded Rs 2 million for his safe releases. The police collected the phone-calls record of the gangsters after registering a case against unidentified armed men. A couple of days ago, the police carried out a raid in Muzaffarabad (AJ&K) and arrested two gangsters, later identified as Rafaqat alias Malangi and Bashir alias Kala. According to the police, the accused Rafaqat alias Malangi is relative of the father of the deceased. The accused confessed to the investigators that they, fearing police action, strangled the boy to death and fled away after throwing his dead body in the filed near a village in Kasur about a month ago. The district police Kasur recovered the dead body the next day and buried it in a local graveyard as the police failed to ascertain the identity of the minor boy. The police said that the both the accused have confessed the crime and raids are underway to nab the other accomplice of the killers. The kidnappers confessed to the investigators that they had strangled the schoolboy to death after the family failed to pay the ransom amount as per their demand. Police investigators said that the abductors strangled the boy with his school uniform. The kidnappers took the boy to Kasur, where they kept him inside a house but later killed him and threw his body in the field to mislead the police. Karamat Ali told reporters that he had tried to sell out his two-Marla house to pay the ransom but he was offered only Rs 800,000 for the property. The ill-fated father has also appealed to the Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif to provide them justice and ensure maximum punishment to the killers. Further investigations were underway.
