QUETTA - Former PPP Balochistan President, Senator Lashkari Raisani has said that the role of Interior Minister Rehman Malik in establishing peace in the province was suspicious as when he visits Quetta he speaks of use of force to bring peace in the province while in Sindh he speaks of reconciliation. 'Disgruntled Baloch who have gone to mountains to secure their rights want to join mainstream politics, he stated this while talking to media persons during the Chehlum of his nephew, Mir Aqmal Raisani, here on Monday. Senator Lashkari Raisani said that if we go through the history of Federation we would not find any positive thing regarding Balochistan ,adding, that in past rulers persuaded veteran Baloch guerrilla leader Nawab Nuoroz Khan to come back from mountains in the name of reconciliation and later he was executed. However, he hoped that this time rulers would not repeat the same history. 'If Baloch resistance fighters agree for negotiations and take part in the development of the nation it would yield positive results for the country, he remarked. He informed that Baloch resistance fighters themselves had contacted him and expressed willingness to join mainstream politics. 'I have informed Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani about it and lets see what happens. To whom Prime Minister will give authority to initiate dialogue process, he said, and emphasised that the promises should be honoured if government made any commitments with disgruntled Baloch. There would be fatal consequences if promises were broken, he feared. Referring to Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik, Lashkari Raisani said that his role was suspicious since he always adopted double standard policies. He said Malik speaks of force in Balochistan to ensure peace but in Karachi he stresses for reconciliation. 'Malik is sabotaging reconciliation efforts of Baloch separatists who intend to join mainstream politics for the rights of the province, he stated. He urged the judiciary to take action against those whom Dr Zulfiqar Mirza had accused of conspiring to destabilise Pakistan. Lashkari said cases should be registered against all those people. He said that it would be premature to comment on the statements of Dr. Zulfiqar Mirza that whether they were correct or false, however, State should take notice of these statements. Federal Interior Minister and a party desired to disintegrate the country and State should take action in the regard, he added. 'Rehman Malik makes efforts to mislead the masses and speaks beyond the facts, he remarked. He said that whenever the people of Balochistan whether they be Baloch or Pakhtun, raised voice for their rights, they were branded as traitors while former Sindh Interior Minister swears upon Holy Quran and blamed Federal Interior Minister but no action was being taken against latter nor any case was registered against him. Referring to the solution of Balochistans problems, he said that the issue of Balochistan was administrative and it could be resolved, adding, that eradication of target killings and kidnapping for ransom from the province was necessary.
