PESHAWAR - In a bid to provide best transportation facilities to residents and to improve drainage system in the tribal belt, the political administration has completed eight uplift schemes of streets pavement and drains construction in various parts of Bajaur Agency that will facilitate thousands of dwellers.

A press release issued by Fata secretariat on Wednesday stated that on special directives of the Political Agent Abdul Jabbar Shah, the authorities paved 701 meters long streets and constructed 564 meters long drains in Muslim Abad village of Tehsil Khar. About 503 meter extensive street was paved besides construction of 424 meters long drains in Hilal Abad village of Tehsil Khar to improve the general sanitation of the area. Keeping in view the requirements of dwellers, 1653 meters long streets were paved apart from construction of 919 meters drains in Malik Shaheen Kallay, Mamund Tehsil. Administration also completed 1278 meters long street pavements and 229 meters long drains schemes in Asghar village of Tehsil Nawagai. In Matta Shah Khas village of Tehsil Salarzai, 1539 meters extended streets have been paved while 838 meters long drains were constructed. Likewise 875 meters street paved and 357 meters drains were constructed in Lar Khalozo village of Tehsil Mamund. Similarly, about 988 meters long streets were paved and 168 meters drains were constructed in village Haji Lawang of Khar Tahsil following construction of 823 meters drains and 854 meters long streets pavements in Lar Loisum village of Tehsil Khar to improve the sewerage system and general sanitation of the area. It is expected that more than 14 thousand people would facilitate with accomplishment of these uplift projects as poor sewerage system was causing spreading of epidemic diseases in the aforesaid localities.
