LAHORE – The FMC Second Asian Masters Squash Championship entered the final stage as semi-finals rounds of the event were completed here at the PSA Squash Complex on Wednesday.
In the 35-39 age category semi-final, Zulfiqar Khan of Pakistan played superb squash and beat Sri Lankan Lal Wickrama Singhe 11-9, 11-5, 11-8, Jahangir Khan showed glimpses of glorious past and beat Indian Saurab Nayar 11-6, 13-11, 11-6.
In the 40-44 category semis, Abdul Rashid of Pakistan got walk over against Indian Aseem Verma while Sajjad Ahmed stunned Adnan Latif 11-7, 12-14, 11-5, 11-8. Sohail Qaiser of Pakistan and M Fayyaz of Hong Kong won the over 45-49 category semi-finals by defeating their respective opponents.
The over 50-54 category saw Hassan Raza edged out Ghulam Farooq 11-6, 11-7, 11-3 and Jaideep Singh Grewal of India beat Ali Hassan Habib of Pakistan 12-10, 8-11, 11-7, 6-11, 11-6.  In the over 55-59 semis, Lalit Kumar Agnihotri of India beat Abdul Qayyum of Pakistan 16-18, 3-11, 11-9, 11-5, 11-4 and Haneef Lodhi qualified for the final while in the 60 plus category, Gogi Alauddin of Pakistan eased past Munir Sait of India 11-4, 11-0, 11-1 while Indian Rajiv Reddy got walk over against Sajjad Munir of Pakistan.
