ELLEN DeGeneres has been awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, as she enters the 10th season of her hit daytime show.The comedian and TV host attended the traditional ceremony in Hollywood accompanied by her 82-year-old mother Betty and her wife Portia De Rossi.DeGeneres’ mother is one of her biggest fans, and went on to become a LGBT-rights activist, after her daughter came out in 1997.Speeches at the event were made by fellow comedian and talk show host Jimmy Kimmel and American Idol host Ryan Seacrest.DeGeneres was clearly delighted with the presentation.She joked: “It’s amazing because I spent my entire career trying to conduct myself a certain way and making sure that no one walks all over me, only to get to a point that people are going to walk all over me.”DeGeneres’ show has won a total of 38 Daytime Emmy Awards and she has hosted both the Emmys and Oscars.DeGeneres begins the 10th season of her hit daytime talk show The Ellen DeGeneres Show next week, and recently celebrated four years of marriage with De Rossi.            –SN
