Population Dept case adjourned till 12th

LAHORE – An anti-terrorism court on Wednesday adjourned the case of Population Welfare Department employees until September 12. According to details, more than 2,000 Population Welfare Department employees, including a large number of female workers, staged a protest rally in front of the Civil Secretariat.
The protesters became aggressive when their demand of meeting the chief secretary was not met. They then forcibly entered the secretariat, as well as damaged vehicles and office property. The violent protest continued for hours, during which The Mall and linking roads were completely blocked because of a traffic mess.
