At least three persons including a woman and two children were killed and another injured when roof of a house collapsed due to heavy rain here in Peshawar on early Thursday morning. Water accumulated in the streets and entered many houses in the low lying areas of the city.
According to details, heavy rains lashed different parts of Peshawar district due to which roof of a dilapidated mud and stone house located in Gulberg area caved in.
The residents were buried under the debris of the house resulting in death of three persons while the house owner was injured in the incident.
The locals and relatives on self help basis recovered the bodies and injured and shifted them to hospital.
Meanwhile, rain water entered several houses besides flooding the streets and roads on University Road, Gulberg, Kohati, Lahori Gate and other areas of the city.
The citizens had to face difficulties due to entrance of water in houses which damaged their house holds and accumulation of several feet of water in streets and at roads.
They criticized the district government for poor planning of sewerage system and demanded the authorities concerned to mend the situation.
