LAHORE – At least five people including two children were killed in as many incidents in different parts of the City, police and rescue workers said.

Police said three people were killed in road mishaps, while a minor boy was electrocuted and another died shortly after he fell into the tub of boiling milk.

According to details, two-year-old son of Nisar Ahmed was playing inside his house located in Mohalla Jalloiyan inside Bhatti Gate when suddenly he fell into the tub filled with boiling milk. He sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.

Another two-year-old was electrocuted to death in the Shahdara area. Police said the two-year-old son of Muhammad Aslam received severe electric shock after he touched naked electric wires at his house. He was rushed to a local hospital, but died on the way.

In another incident, Bilqees Bibi was crossing the GT Road when a rashly-driven vehicle hit her from the rear side, resulting in her on-the-spot death. The driver along with the vehicle fled away from the crime scene.

Muhammad Riaz was crossing the Ferozpur road when a recklessly driven vehicle ran over him. He sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a local hospital, where he died later. The police are investigating.

Meanwhile, Muhammad Ishaq who was admitted to a local hospital with serious injuries died there on Wednesday. Ishaq was crossing the road in the Raiwind City area when a tractor-trolley ran over him the other day.

Also, Investigations Police Lytton Road on Wednesday claimed to have resolved the blind murder mystery involving an employee of the Lahore High Court (LHC). Mazhar Iqbal Ghori, a reader at the LHC, had been found murdered at his residence located in the Lytton Road police vicinity a few days ago.

According to a police spokesperson, the investigators collected mobile phone data of the deceased and later arrested two people in connection with his murder. During interrogation, the accused identified as Hamayun alias Hunny and Sajid, the residents of Muslim Colony, Jiya Mosa, confessed to the killing.

They also told the investigators that the deceased had developed illicit relations with their aunt. Police have also recovered the vehicle of the deceased and other valuables that the accused had allegedly taken away from Ghori’s residence after killing him. Further investigations are underway.

Also, a 40-year-old man was found shot dead in the Gujjarpura area, police said on Wednesday. Police investigators said the man, later identified as Muhammad Waheed, a resident of Narowal district, was lying dead with bullet injuries in the head alongside a road in China Scheme Park as they reached the spot.
