ISLAMABAD - A superb solo hat trick by Furqan helped Al-Faisal Football Club to edge out hosts MIFA FC 3-2 in the semifinals of the MIFA Football Challenge Cup Thursday. Furqan scored his first goal in the 12th minute through a free-kick. He then doubled his tally in the 18th minute before completing hat trick in the 40th minute to give Al-Faisal a 3-0 first half lead. Soon after the break Raheel scored a much-needed goal for MIFA in the 48th minute to give his side some hope of comeback. His efforts once again brought fruit for MIFA as he completed his brace in the 55th minute. But despite creating tremendous pressure, MIFA forwards fail to score further and were knocked out of the event. The second semifinal will be played today between Mehran FC and Quaid-I-Azam FC. –Staff Reporter
