Rawalpindi: Two more cases of dengue have been detected in the city on Thursday, raising total number of dengue patients in the city to five while Punjab to 74 in 2013.

According to details, two patients identified as Ali Asghar, a Sanitary Supervisor and Police team In-charge at the District Health Office (DHO) Rawalpindi and his wife Farkhanda Ali were shifted to hospital a couple of days earlier. During medical tests dengue virus was detected in both patients.

Executive District Officer (EDO) Health Dr Zafar Iqbal Gondal confirmed the dengue cases but refused to comment more on the issue, when contacted by The Nation.–Staff Reporter
