RAWALPINDI - The Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) has recovered 8kg heroin from a passenger at the Benazir Bhutto Islamabad International Airport (BBIAP) on Thursday. According to details, as per normal routine ANF's airport search was under progress when one of the dogs from ANF Canine Unit started giving signals for presence of narcotics in a bag. The detailed search resulted in recovery of 8kg of fine quality heroin. The passenger Imran Kabir son of Ameer Kabir, resident of Kotli (AJK) has been arrested. He was to travel by Qatar Airline flight Number QR-399 to Athens (via Doha). Case has been registered under Narcotics Law at ANF Police Station and further investigations are under process.

Meanwhile, the ANF organised a meeting of Inter Agency Task Force (IATF) at its Headquarters. The meeting was chaired by Director General ANF Major General Malik Zafar Iqbal and attended by senior officials of 22 law enforcement agencies from all over the Country.  ANF presented latest drug situation and apprised the national drug-seizure data.

Afterward, all LEAs presented their performance on narcotics control. During the meeting significant points discussed to eradication of procedural anomalies in drug control, enhanced interaction, information sharing and coordination of efforts.
