Clear and direct

Prime Minister has vowed not to resign and I believe that the current situation does not call for the Prime Minister to step down. In fact, what is needed is the resumption of talks, focusing on the problems instead of a few personalities. Parliament has backed the supremacy of the Constitution and continuation of our democratic system. The Prime Minister thanked the parliamentarians and said he would not set the precedent for bowing to pressure. The Prime Minister reiterated that the government is ready for talks and would accept their constitutional demands. It is the constitutional and democratic order that has kept the federation strong and it cannot be derailed. People of Pakistan want real democracy and this government has vowed to work harder and better to provide it.
