ISLAMABAD (APP) - The import of over 100 items were allowed from India through land route of Wagha border, said a top official of the Ministry of Commerce. There are total 6575 items on custom tariff import list from India out of which import of 1940 items are allowed, he told APP while commenting a news items appeared in a section of the press on Monday. In case of shortage of any commodity, Pakistani importers can approach the Ministry of Commerce for the import of that particular item through the land route and the ministry has the power to accept their request and issue an No Objection Certificate (NOC) in this regard, Shahid Bashir, Joint Secretary Ministry of Commerce said. The decision is not a new one and the Economic Coordination Committee of the Cabinet has already given the approval in its last meeting in this regard, he added.
