LAHORE - Pakistan former Test skipper Aamir Sohail has dismissed reports that he was relieved of the additional responsibility of director marketing, due to an unsuccessful Dubai visit to secure sponsorship for the series against Australia in UAE. Sohail, who is primarily the director of game planning at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore, said he had himself asked the chairman to release him from his additional responsibility. "I am preparing the budget for the National Cricket Academy and game development which requires time so I wanted to concentrate on my primary job," Sohail said. He also made it clear that his visit to Dubai to seek sponsorship was not a failed one as made out in sections of the media."We have lined up with at least three prospective sponsors and chairman Ijaz Butt will make a final decision and announcement in next couple of days," he said.Pakistan's upcoming series against Australia in Abu Dhabi and Dubai is still in doubt as the two boards have still not signed a memorandum of understanding for the five one-dayers and a Twenty20 match series. Also the board is yet to announce the title and co-sponsors for the series.
