Protesters attacked a car carrying Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva Tuesday, shattering windows but leaving the Thai leader unhurt. The attack escalated tensions a day before a massive anti-government rally that Abhisit said has sparked concerns ofcivil war in Thailand. The attack marked the first outbreak of violence in Thailands latest round of political turmoil. Some of the vehicles windows were smashed when about two dozen protesters converged on Abhisits motorcade as it left a hotel in Pattaya, about 90 miles (150 kilometers) south of Bangkok, said government spokesman Isara Suntornwat.
