BUREWALA - Three young sisters committed suicide by swallowing poisonous pills over a marriage dispute on Wednesday. Liaquat Ali, a poor labourer, resident of Madina Colony, was away from his house when his three daughters: Rafia (20), Surayya (18) and Safia (13) gulped down poisonous pills. Seeing their condition deteriorating, their mother called a local dispenser who advised her to take the girls to the hospital. Meanwhile, 13-year-old Safia died on the spot while two other girls were rushed to the hospital where they too could not survive and breathed their last. The grieved mother told the reporters that her two elder daughters Rafia and Surayya wanted to marry of their choice. We refused to act on their demand and on our refusal the dejected girls committed suicide by swallowing poisonous pills and ended their lives. Police have started investigation.
