KARACHI - An alleged bandit was killed in a shootout between a police party and a band of four criminals in North Nazimabad on Friday.The bandits were looting people, when a police mobile appeared on the scene. A pitched gun battle ensued when the bandits attacked the police team. As a result, two bandits received gunshot wounds while the two others succeeded in fleeing. Two TT pistols and a pickup van were seized from the wounded bandits, who were shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH). One of them died during treatment. Officials of the Taimoria Police Station said the deceased bandit was identified as 43-year-old Sayal Bakht, son of Ata Mohammad, a resident of Shah Nawaz Bhutto Colony, and the other as Gull Mast. A manhunt has been launched for the arrest of the feeling bandits identified as Gull Wazir and Yar Khan. Meanwhile, district & Sessions Judge Hasan Feroz, who was put in charge of the inquiry into the killing of MQM worker Mansoor Mukhtar and his elder brother Masood Mukhtar, on Friday urged the general public that anyone conversant with the facts of the March-27 incident in PIB Colony should turn up at the District & Sessions Court Karachi South on April 10 at 11:00 am to record his/her statement.
