JUI-F activists hold protest against power outages


LAKKI MARWAT - The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl workers took out a rally on Friday to record their protest against electricity loadshedding, price hike and ‘possible’ restoration of Nato supply.
The rally started from Eidgah on old Kachery Road and after passing through Michenkhel, Saeedkhel, Mela Mandi and Bazaar Meenakhel, it reached Kargil Chowk on main bus stop. The JUI-F, district chapter, Chief Maulana Abdul Rahim, General Secretary Maulana Bashir Ahmad Haqqani, tehsil ameer Maulana Qurashi Ahmad Shah and General Secretary Maulana Abdul Haq led the rally.
The protesters carried party flags and raised slogans against the dearness and power outages. Speaking on the occasion Maulana Abdul Rahim, Maulana Abdul Wakil Bettanni and others said that the nation would not tolerate the restoration of Nato supply line as it had not forgotten the killing of Pak army soldiers by US forces on Salala check post with Afghanistan border.
They said that the policies of government had no direction ad those were aimed at to appease the United States. “The rulers have no courage to lodge protest with America against the continuous drone attacks in our territory”, they maintained.
He told that people were protesting against the shortage of gas and consistent electricity load shedding but on the other side the government had increased the prices of both commodities manifold.
Several resolutions were adopted unanimously on the occasion wherein it was demanded of the government to refrain from restoring Nato supply line, stop unfair power load shedding, withdraw increase in electricity and gas prices and initiate action against gamblers, drug traffickers and obscenity in the district.
APP adds:  Due to necessary maintenance work, power supply will remain suspended from 132 KV Jamrud Grid from 0800 to 1300 on April 8 that would affect the consumers of 11 KV RMI, Karkhano Market and North
West Kidney Centre feeders.
The power supply will remain suspendedd from 132 KV University Grid Station from 0800 to 1300 on April 8 affecting the consumers of 11KV Old Hayatabad feeders.
Similarly, power supply will remain suspended from 132KV Jamrud Grid Station from 0800 to 1300 on April 7; resultantly the consumers of 11KV Hayatabad-1 feeders will be affected. Power supply from 132KV Peshawar Fort will remain suspended from 1000 to 1400 on April 7, affecting the consumers of 11KV Bashirabad and Shahi Bagh feeders.
Likewise, power supply will remain suspended from 132KV Swabi Grid Station from 0800 to 1400 on April 7 due to which the consumers of 11KV Bamkhel, Swabi City, Hadakhel, Marghuz and Shah Mansur feeders will face inconvenience.
