KARACHI – The Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen on Friday snubbed the government over the brewing security situation in the city, and demanded that those behind the killing of the Shia community be penalised. The demand came at a demonstration held in Kharadar condemning the killing of Shias in Karachi, Gilgit, Quetta and Chilas. MWM’s Maulana Sadiq Raza Taqvi, Maulana Ali Afzal, Mohammad Mehdi and Ali Ausat said the US, Israel and Congress stooges were behind in the targeted killing. They alleged that conspiracies were being hatched to destabilise Gilgit-Baltistan and create anarchy in the country. They said that 200 persons were missing for the past four days, but the government did not take any serious step for their recovery. They said that border areas would have to experience instability if the government did not take notice of the genocide of the Shia Muslims. They said that sectarian tension was harmful for Pakistan, but unwise people were aiding the enemies of Pakistan. Participants of the protest raised slogans against the US and Israel.
