Pak players beaten in Davis Cup




ISLAMABAD - Pakistani players lost their opening day singles matches to their respective opponents on Friday in Davis Cup Asia Oceania Group II semi-final tie in Manila. Pakistan tennis player Aqeel Khan revealed in an exclusive talk with TheNation from Manila. He said that hot and humid conditions court behaviour cost us the matches.  Aqeel started the proceedings for Pakistan against J. Arcila and managed to hold on to his serves, but Arcila came back strongly and never gave Aqeel any chance  to recover and won the first set 6-2. Aqeel also lost the second set with same margin and third set by 6-3.  The Filipinos took an early initiative.
Yasir Khan, younger brother of Aqeel also lost of hosts player T Huey by 6-1, 6-0 and 6-3.                             –MOHSIN ALI
