LAHORE - Several residents staged a protest demonstration against Millat Park Police alleging that the police patronized two abductors, who had kidnapped a school girl some days back. The protestors gathered on the main road and chanted slogans against the police. A citizen namely Imtiaz Ahmed said that his daughter, Aqsa, was kidnapped by two accused men namely Mahram Ali and Yaseen on gunpoint, but police were patronizing the culprits. He demanded the CCPO and DIG (Operations) to take note of the incident and provide him justice. Later, police contingents reached the spot and dispersed the protestors promising strict legal action against the accused.
Injured: Two dacoits shot injured an employee of the Water Company during robbery bid on Davis Road in the wee hours. The condition of the victim was told critical at the local hospital.
Mysterious death: Naseerabad police found body of a 30-year-old man from Suzuki Motors. Police investigators said that a big mark of torture was visible on left side of the body but nothing could be established about the cause of his death. Policemen are awaiting an autopsy to ascertain the real cause of his death. Further investigations are underway. Similarly, Civil Lines police also found a dead body lying near the pond adjacent to the Waris Road.
Police investigators said that locals spotted the body of the man, yet to be identified, and shifted it to the City morgue for autopsy. According to them, the deceased was a drug addict and was habitual of injecting himself. Further investigations are underway.
Unconscious: A prisoner of the Kot Lakhpat Jail fell unconscious due to cardiac arrest. Sources said the condition of the prisoner namely Akhlaq Ahmed was critical at the Jinnah Hospital.
