Retired govt employees seek relief in budget

LAKKI MARWAT - All Gazetted Retired Officers Association, Lakki Marwat chapter, has warned of launching a protest campaign against the government if it does not give any relief to the retired employees in the upcoming annual budget.
Talking to reporters here after a meeting on Friday, the association’s president Haji Zarwali Khan said that the retired employees were hardly making both ends meet with meager monthly pension.
“To announce any relief for the pensioners is not on the agenda of present government,” he claimed, saying that the pensioners need a sympathetic and kind attention of the rulers to lead a comfortable life. He said that announcements regarding perks and privileges for govt employees in the next budget appeared in the press but such announcements were not yet made for retired employees.
He demanded of the government to increase monthly pension and medical allowance of the retired government servants in the upcoming budget.
