KARACHI - Three people, including a minor girl, were killed in separate road mishaps in the metropolis on Friday.A minor girl died while her parents received injuries in a road accident near Godown Chowrangi in the limits of the Korangi Industrial Area Police Station. Babar Masih along with his wife Sarwat and two-year-old daughter Shikayna was going to his sister’s home in Zia Colony, when a speeding tanker hit them. Shikayna died on the spot while Babar and his wife received critical injuries. The body and the injured were ferried to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for medico-legal formalities and treatment. After the mishap, the tanker driver fled the scene leaving the vehicle behind that was set on fire by area people afterwards. Police officials said the victim was a resident of Essa Nagri, PIB area. No case was registered till the filing of this report.Separately, a young man, 25-year-old Zakir, son of Usman, was killed near Port Qasim when his bike was hit by a rashly-driven truck. Zakir was heading towards his residence in Pipri area. The body was shifted to the JPMC for medico-legal formalities and later taken by the heirs.A man was killed after falling off an elevator in Tahir Plaza near the City Court. The victim, Mohammad Anwar, 55, son of Khuda Bux, was a resident of Shah Baig Lane Lyari. The body was shifted to the Civil Hospital Karachi, where the heirs took it away after the completion of medico-legal formalities.Meanwhile, an activist of banned outfit Sipah Sahaba was shot dead in Godhra Society within the precincts of New Karachi Industrial Area police station. The victim 55-year-old Abdullah Bhumka son of Mohammad Bhumka was going home after offered Isha prayed from Rehmania Mosque situated at sector 11-G New Karachi, when unidentified armed men reached on motorcycle and open firing on him, resultantly he received four bullets and died on the spot. The body was shifted to ASH for medico legal formalities. Victim was the former in charge of banned out fit SSP and now day he was the president of Godhra Community. Tension engulfs in New Karachi and more than dozen people closed the shop forcibly. Heavy contingents of police and rangers deployed due to uncertain condition of locality.
