RAWALPINDI  – Rawalpindi Police have arrested 49 lawbreakers including 34 gamblers, three suspected dacoits and seized 33 bottles of liquor, seven pistols 30 bore with 30 rounds and cash Rs 107,990 from the possession of the arrested accused.
According to police spokesman, City police arrested Waqas and recovered 15 bottles of liquor. Civil Line police held Zaheer on recovery of 15 liquor bottles. Saddar Baroni police recovered three liquor bottles from the possession of Naveed.
Other accused were arrested for having illegal weapons while Sajjad and Bilal were sent behind the bars as police recovered stolen cash Rs 60,000 from them. Jatli police acting on a tip-off conducted a raid in Doltala area and caught 28 gamblers namely Fasial, Adalat, Ali, Najeeb, Khan Nawaz, Suleman, Imran, Usman, Khalid, Nazeer, Ali, Abdul Jalil, Fayyaz, Nawaz, Suleman, Ashfaq, Rafaqat, Iftikhar, Liaquat, Shabbir and others red-handed and recovered Rs 25690 stake money and other items.
In another raid conducted in Fauji Colony, Pirwadhai police arrested six gamblers identified as Ijaz, Zahid, Rashid, Abdul Majeed, Taj Muhammad and Farhan as they were involved in gambling. Police recovered Rs 22300 stake money and other items. Saddar Baroni police on information about suspected dacoits raided in ‘Jarai’ area at Adiala Road and apprehended three suspected dacoits namely Minhaj, Nawaz and Organzaib. Police recovered three pistols 30 bore with 14 rounds from their custody.
