ISLAMABAD - The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has directed the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) to postpone a departmental examination citing that some officers who are to appear in the exam are performing duties in electoral monitoring teams in Attock.
The decision was taken on Saturday, on a request from the district & sessions judge/district returning officer, Attock, who intimated the polls body that the assistant commissioners of Attock, Fateh Jang and Pindigheb who had been appointed as members of monitoring teams for the general elections were appearing in a departmental examination being conducted by the PPSC from the coming 8 to 16.
He requested that PPSC be asked for the postponement of the said examination while the provincial election commissioner, Punjab, also endorsed the request. The ECP directed for the postponement of the said departmental examination till completion of the general elections.
“In this regard, the chairman Punjab Public Service Commission has been asked to issue necessary directions for the postponement of the said departmental examination and intimation of the same to the ECP secretariat for placing the same before the Election Commission of Pakistan,” a press release said. 
More than 400 monitoring teams are assigned duties across the country to monitor political activities in polls, the press release added.
