Indiscriminate role of media stressed

SADIQABAD - PPP’s NA-197 candidate Murtaza Mehmood has pledged to serve the people if he is elected from the constituency in the forthcoming general elections.
Addressing a press conference at the Sadiqabad Press Club, he expressed the hope that his party would get a landslide victory across the country in the general elections, and form governments at the federal and provincial levels. He also said that the media persons should fulfill their responsibilities indiscriminately.
On the occasion, he pledged to grant Rs200,000 to the Press Club, saying the Sadiqabad Press Club members always discharge their journalistic duties positively with responsibility. He was flanked by NA-195 candidate Mustafa Mehmood, Ali Mehmood, PA-296 candidate Tariq Mehmood, Mumtaz Monis, Majeed Baloch, Muhammad Din Rind, Mukhtar Ahmad, Mujeeb Arjumand, Saeed Ahmad, Jam Kabeer, Hammad, Nadeem Afzal and Habibur Rehman.
The PPP candidate for NA-197 earlier claimed that district Rahim Yar Khan was a stronghold of his party, saying that only the PPP-nominated candidates would win all the six National Assembly and 13 Punjab Assembly seats across the district in the general elections.  “PPP has become an organised political force from Chani Goth to Kot Sabzal,” he said.
He said, “Insha’Allah, with the public support, I will win the election and start serving the people without any discrimination.” Mentioning the “public services” by his forefathers, the candidate said that he would ask for votes on the basis of services and performance.
