There are two physical powers in the earthly realm, one is the sword and the other is the pen and there has been an ongoing rivalry between them for generations. The sword signifies the wars and battles fought for believes or territory while the pen has been used for passive and peaceful changes brought by great writers. In the long run it is always the pen that wins the battle. The world has seen many great changes brought about by writers as well as generals but if anyone was asked which they prefer they would always choose the pen. To name just a few great writers such as Plato, Socrates, Aristotle, Adam Smith, Dante, Dostoyevsky and Carl Jung who brought change in the ages they lived in, some to physiology and some to philosophy. Dante wrote three volumes of the epic poem — Inferno, Purgatorio, and Paradisio they chart Dante’s journey through Hell and Purgatory and into Paradise, acting as a parallel of a soul’s journey through the world to reach God. Its power and success helped earn Dante the nickname "The Supreme Poet." Freud’s theories revolutionized psychiatry and had a lasting impact on the field.
