RAWALPINDI - Rawalpindi Arts Council (RAC) in collaboration with Mehfil-e-Naat Islamabad organised a Naatia Mushaira in which poets from Rawalpindi and Islamabad, besides Karachi, Jacobabad, Tounsa Sharif and Wah Cantt recited their poetry.Qamar Warsi, Secretary Dabistan Warisia Karachi, presided over the Mushaira and famous poet Rashid Saqi was the chief guest at the occasion, while Waqar Ahmed Resident Director RAC and Mohyuddin Jamili were special guests. Arsh Hashmi, secretary Mehfil-e-Naat Islamabad, was the compare of the Mushaira. Speaking on the occasion, Waqar Ahmed said holding mushairas is the monthly feature of Rawalpindi Arts Council, and in this gathering the presence of poets from other provinces has made it an all Pakistan Mushaira. He said love and respect for Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is the basic element of faith of Muslims and centuries old tradition of Urdu Naat is continued in the current age with full glory. Qari Muzamil Hussain recited verses from Holy Quran at the start of the Mushaira. Member of Mehfil-e-Naat Islamabad Mohyuddin Jamili said that the naatia mushaira would be conducted on large scale from next year. He also thanked the administration of RAC for extending full cooperation. The people from various walks of life attended the Mushaira.
