PESHAWAR - The 10th round of ‘Sehat Ka Insaf’ Programme was completed in 92 union councils of the provincial capital wherein 724,000 children were vaccinated against fatal diseases by 4,270 teams of health department and PTI volunteers.
Provincial Minister Shaukat Ali Yousafzai inaugurated the 10th round of Sehat Ka Insaf programme here at Police Services Hospital. Besides others, Health Secretary Ghulam Qadir and office-bearers of health department were present on the occasion.
Addressing on the occasion, Yousafzai said that whether or not he was minister he would participate in health related programmes. He said, “We are servants of the people and have been elected to serve the masses.” He added that PTI MPAs did not become members of the provincial assembly on the basis of their personalities; rather they had been elected on the name of change. He said that there was no forward bloc in the party but certain members of the party had expressed reservations over the portfolios of corrupt elements.
He maintained that the disgruntled elements also demanded speedy work on PTI agenda and in this connection they had met Imran Khan. He said that it was a good omen that PTI MPAs were demanding action against corrupt people and soon their grievances would be addressed.
He assured that PTI did not use any single rupee from exchequer for the purpose of party publicity and it was propaganda of ANP and PPP which wanted to destabilise the KP government. He said that WHO and UNICEF were directly supervising Sehat Ka Insaf project.
Meanwhile, PTI volunteers and health workers immunised over 0.7 million children of Peshawar and visited door to door for appraising the masses of anti-polio campaign and eight other diseases. They also distributed pamphlets regarding dengue virus to appraise the masses of its preventive measures.
Strict security arrangements were made for the security of the health volunteers and around 6,000 police were deployed in the inner and outer check posts of the city.
