ISLAMABAD  - The Judicial Complex Islamabad still awaits the necessary security to be provided by the Interior Ministry even after the passage of over one month to the firing incident and blast in the F-8 court which had left as many as 11 people, including additional sessions judge, dead. The hearings in high profile cases were suspended because of the poor security of the Judicial Complex.
According to sources, the hearing of Bombay attacks case accused in Adyala Jail was also suspended due to the absence of Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Attique-ur-Rehman, who required proper security following the killing of session judge Rafaqat Awan in Kachari blast.
However, the government has not yet taken any tangible step to improve the security of courts and judicial complex after the March 3 court attack in Islamabad, and no walk-trough gates as well as metal dictators have been installed at the main gates of the complex.
The hearing of high profile cases including Gen (r) Musharraf, former President Asif Ali Zardari, two former premiers Raja Pervaiz Asharf  and Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani and OGRA, are also in NAB and anti-terrorism courts. Important courts including NAB Court, Anti-Terrorism Court, Banking and Family Courts are also present in the Judicial Complex.
Talking to The Nation, Islamabad High Court Registrar confirmed that he had written a letter to Interior Ministry last week seeking provision of security to all courts of the capital including Judicial Complex.
He said the ministry had given assurance to provide security in next few days but no progress so far in this regagrd.
He also said that the ministry deployed the Rangers personnel at Islamabad courts except the judicial complex, and ministry officials said that security of judges and lawyers would be top priority of government.
Senior lawyer Faisal Chaudhry pointed out that the judicial complex is located near the entry and exit point of the capital and the government did not follow the instructions of the apex court which had ordered to install the CCTV cameras to all courts.
