SIALKOT -Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has finally approved Rs1 billion mega project of 35-km-long Sialkot-Zafarwal dual carriageway and released first tranche of Rs500 million for the project.

Local MPA Rana Liaqat Ali disclosed this while talking to the newsmen at Pasrur here on Sunday. He said that Federal Minister for Defence, Water and Power Khawaja Asif would inaugurate the project in next week. He said that Sialkot-Zafarwal Road dualization was the longstanding demand of the locals as the project would provide better means of communication to people, besides, opening new vistas of socioeconomic development in the region.

The MPA added that the Punjab government would soon establish an international standard hockey stadium at Chawinda-Pasrur for promoting hockey game at local level, besides establishing Govt Girls Degree College at far-off bordering village Bajra Garhi along the Sialkot Working Boundary for providing quality higher education to local girl students at their doorsteps.
