JS Bank hosts cricket tournament

KARACHI (PR): JS Bank Limited has announced the launch of JS Bank Chairman’s Cricket Tournament, 2015. The tournament starts from 8th April in Karachi and ends on 10th April, 2015. There will be a total of 15 matches being played between 8 teamsof JS Bank employees. The teams represent the presence of JS Bank across the country.

Jahangir Siddiqui, Chairman JS Bank commented on the occasion: “Our commitment to the promotion of cricket is taking a new step every day. I’m sure the standard and quality of this tournament will be very high”. This tournament is part of JS Bank’s internal initiatives to further enhance employee satisfaction and provide an opportunity to its employees to showcase their passion and talent for cricket.

Recently, Mahvesh and Jahangir Siddiqui Foundation provided specialized wheelchairs for Pakistan Wheelchair Cricket team which supported their win in the first ever international wheelchair cricket series against Nepal.

JS Bank is alsosponsoring the first ever “JS Bank Quaid-e -Azam Trophy”in the 1st week of May. The wheelchair cricket trophywill provide a major platform for the passionate cricketers to prove their talent and then go on to represent Pakistan at the International level.

Zong launches Fast & Furious 7

KARACHI (PR): Zong, Pakistan’s most advanced and only 3G and 4G telecom operator, launched the much awaited movie ‘Fast & Furious 7’ in Pakistan by holding its grand premiere here in Cinepax Ocean Mall, Karachi recently. This launch was a collaboration with Universal Studios, and was attended by a large number of celebrities and corporate guests.

 It was an acknowledgement of Zong’s uniqueness as the fastest and only 3G and 4G service provider in the country.

The premiere allowed attendees the opportunity to experience Zong Super 3G and 4G internet through an experience zone displaying mobile broadband products. It also involved a digital campaign whereby attendees used the hashtag #Zongff7 while uploading pictures and check-ins to win Zong terminal products.

It is worth mentioning here that this premiere was a part of Zong’s 8 week internet campaign titled ‘The Fastest Gets Furious’. This internet campaign allows customers the opportunity to win movie coupons, Honda CRZ and a trip for 2 to Dubai. Lucky draws for local tickets will take place on a weekly basis throughout the campaign whereas lucky draws for FF7 tickets in Dubai and for Honda CRZ will be held on April 10th and May 25th respectively.

LGU gets HEC recognition

LAHORE (PR): Lahore Garrison University has got HEC recognition which makes it a degree awarding institute in respective disciplines; basic sciences, social sciences, humanities, business administration, computer sciences and information technology. Furthermore, Vice Chancellor Dr.Jamil Anwar Chaudhary has expressed his gratitude to the university faculty for achieving the milestone. The “Lahore Garrison University” now has the legal right of initiating different educational programs under its degree awarding position.

CCBPL extends good

governance into supply chain

LAHORE (PR): Coca-Cola Beverages Pakistan Limited (CCBPL), in line with its mission of extending good governance and best practices into its supply chain, has concluded a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the National Highways and Motorways Police, for carrying out a road safety training program for the drivers of its distributors. This unique initiative falling under the company’s corporate social responsibility strategy aims at capacity building of the company’s business partners and strengthening society.   

The MoU in this regard was signed recently by Shaista Hassan, Human Resources Business Partner, Commercial Department, CCBPL and Khurram Shehzad Haider, Commandant National Highways & Motorways Police Training College Sheikhupura.

The training of the drivers numbering in hundreds, will be imparted to make an attitude shift towards road safety and to ensure that the drivers observe utmost caution for their own and for others’ safety while on the road. The Training Course to be carried out will focus on Defensive Driving Techniques, Road Safety Tips, Simulations, Cockpit Drills, Traffic Rules & Regulations, Truck Engineering, Road Signs & Markings, Mindset & Motivation, Legal Requirements, Fatigue Management, Troubleshooting, First Aid and Grooming & Hygiene of Drivers.

Speaking on the occasion, CCBPL Director Public Affairs & Communications, Zafar Abbas Jafri said, ”The road safety record in our country is very alarming, as is evident from the facts that 17,000 people lose their lives owing to road accidents every year, whereas 51,000 are critically injured leading to loss of limbs and paralysis. It should be the responsibility of every company to initiate road safety training not only for their own drivers, but also for the drivers of business partners like distributors who are directly involved in the company’s business. CCBPL is proud to be setting an example with this program.”
