ISLAMABAD - Sami Ziab became the crowned champion of 12 and under category, as he thrashed Abdul Wahab Anwar 2-0 in the final of the first edition of PTF development series Juniors National Ranking Tennis Championship played here at Senator Dilawar Abbas PTF Tennis Complex on Monday.
Sami took the first set 6-3, but it was almost one way traffic in the second set as Sami comfortably won it 6-1 to grab the title. Earlier, in the semifinals, Abdul Wahab beat Huzaifa Khan 6-1, 6-0, while in the second semifinal, Sami beat Ahmed 6-1, 6-3.  Haris Irfanul Haq clinched the 16 and under title as he brushed aside Abdul Sami in straight sets, winning the final 6-0, 6-0 without conceding a single game. Earlier, in the semifinals, Abdul Sami beat Muneeb Sajid 7-5, 6-4 while Haris beat Khan 6-1 and 6-1.  In the 14 and under semifinals, Waleed Anwar beat Abdul Sami 6-0, 6-2, while Hamza Bin Rehan outclassed Abdul Wahab 6-1, 6-1.  The finals of U-18 singles and U-14 will be played today (Tuesday) at 10:30am.
 Pakistan Tennis Federation president Salim Saifullah Khan will grace the occasion as chief guest.
