Trader’s family robbed of Rs5.5m valuables

SIALKOT - Two unidentified armed motorcyclists looted gold ornaments, cash and other valuables worth of 5.5 million from a family in Khokhar Town locality near Uggoki-Sialkot here on Monday.
According to FIR (No196/2015) lodged at Uggoki police station under section 392 PPC by Kotli Behram-Sialkot city based trader Rehan Sikandar Malik, he and his family were going to Khokhar Town-Uggoki in a car (LEB-9277) for meeting his sister, a day of her wedding. When they reached near Khokhar Town-Uggoki, two armed motorcyclists intercepted the car, held all the women hostage and started looting.
According to the FIR, the accused looted gold ornaments weighing 80 tolas (worth of Rs5 million), thousands of rupees in cash and other valuables from the women, who were going to the wedding house of their beloved daughter for giving her breakfast. Later the accused made off with the valuables.
The Uggoki Police have started investigation with no clue or arrest till filing of this story.
The looted family is said to be close relative of Saqib Bashir, General Manager /Distribution Capital TV Islamabad.
When contacted, Sialkot DPO Dr Shehzad Asif Khan resolved to net the culprits at earliest. He said that the police teams were raiding various places to ensure early arrest of the accused.
