PESHAWAR - A grand convention of tribal elders and PTI workers from FATA was held here at the provincial secretariat in which participants demanded holding of local government elections in FATA parallel to KPK and the rest of the country.

Member of FATA organizing committee Amin Zada Afridi chaired the meeting, who criticized the federal government for its dual standards and said FATA was the most underdeveloped area in Pakistan. "There is a desperate need of LG elections in FATA for ushering an era of democracy and development. Despite the fact that we deserve such reforms the most, we are continuously being ignored." He added.

Members of the meeting further said that if their demand for LG polls were not realized, citizens from all over FATA would protest for their rights in front of governor house and then in front of Supreme Court of Pakistan.

Members of the meeting also said that Imran Khan should take notice of their demands and use all his influence in the parliament to eradicate prejudice against FATA. Tariq Dawar, Jamal Ud Din Afridi, Nawaz Mir Mallagori and others also attended the meeting.

In another meeting of youth from the province, Provincial Youth President, Sajjad Fayyaz asked workers to mobilize all their resources to ensure victory of PTI in the upcoming LG elections in KPK.
