Islamabad - An impressive Corps Investiture Ceremony was held yesterday at GHQ Auditorium, Rawalpindi, where Corps Commander Lt Gen Malik Zafar Iqbal was the chief guest.
The corps commander conferred the awards of Tamgha-i-Basalat, Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military), Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (Military) on army officers and soldiers and congratulated them on achieving this honour.
Fifteen officers and 81 soldiers were awarded Tamgha-i-Basalat, including next of kin of one Shaheed officer and 76 Shaheed soldiers, for their sacrifices during Operation Zarb-e-Azab.
Forty-six officers were awarded Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) and 106 Officers were awarded Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (Military) on the occasion of Pakistan Day for rendering meritorious services to the nation.
A large number of senior military officials and families of awardees attended the ceremony.
