Philanthropists are depositing amount in Chief Minister Relief Fund and the process of assistance will continue till complete rehabilitation of IDPs, said Chief Minister’s Public Affairs Committee member Muhammad Munshaullah Butt.

He said that the PML-N government under the leadership of PM Nawaz Sharif, Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif was utilizing all its available financial resource to facilitate IDPs and mitigate their sufferings.

He was addressing an overseas Pakistanis meeting held in connection with fund raising campaign for IDPs, organized by district administration here the other day.

A largely numbers of overseas Pakistanis belonging to Lalamusa, Kharian, Dinga, Kotla Towns and suburban rural areas of Tehsil Kharian attended the meeting.

They donated Rs10 million collectively. Ch Iftikhar Doga donated Rs 900,000, Ch M. Saddique Dhakar Rs 500,000, Atif Gee Rs500,000, Ch Imtiaz Amra Rs200,000, Mukhdum Topa Rs100,000, Chechian Welfare Society Rs100,000, Jabran Ahmed Rs100,000, Ch Saleem Khunun Rs100,000, Ch Pervaiz Rs100,000, Ch Naseer Rs 100,000, Hafeezullah Siddique Rs100,000, Ch Nawab Rs100,000, Mushtaq Marian Rs100,000, and AC Iqbal Mazher also donated Rs100,000. The PML-N leader lauded appreciated gesture of donors.

Speaking on the occasion, DCO Ch Liaquat Ali Chattha divulged that people of Gujrat district including government officials, employees, philanthropists had already donated Rs 40 million for IDP.

He said that the federal government had allocated over Rs8 billion for the facilitation of IDPs, while the World Food Programme had allocated Rs2.3 billion for the displaced persons of the NWA.
