KARACHI - Special Advisor to Prime Minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Functional leader, Imtiaz Shiekh has said the demanding of re-election and PM’s resignation are unconstitutional.
Speaking to the reporters at his residence here on Wednesday, he said PM Nawaz Sharif was more popular leader than PTI chairman Imran Khan.
The PTI chairman’s demands are undemocratic. PTI do not even have any political existence in Balochistan and Sindh and it claimed to be famous across the country.
Talking about the government enforcing of Article 245 in the federal capital, he said the army had been called out to avert any possible terrorist attack and to maintain law and order in Islamabad, not to stop any political activity.
A year ago PTI chairman accepted the results of May 11, 2013 general elections and formed the provincial government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but surprisingly now he is making efforts to topple the government and making needless demands, he said. He said holding rallies and showing street powers cannot resolve any issue. Imran should avoid these tactics and stop hatching conspiracies to derail democracy in the country.
Imtiaz advised the PTI chairman to count on the option of dialogues as protest and rallies against the government would destabilise the country.
He further welcomed former president Asif Zardari’s mediation mission to control the current political situation.
He rejected the reports about the difference between the PML-N and the PML-F.
