Three terrorists killed

DERA GHAZI KHAN/SHEIKHUPURA - At least three suspected terrorists were killed in an alleged shootout with police while two managed to escape, the other night.
According to a police spokesman, policemen were taking two accused of attacks on Ahmadi worship places to recover hidden arms when four to five armed men opened firing on police on Indus Highway near Taunsa Bypass. The attackers got freed the two detained accused from the police custody. s“Police chased the attackers and a shootout ensued at Pull Gajoji, as result three accused - Muhammad Hanif, Raja Iftikhar and an unidentified gunman were killed,” the spokesman said.
He said that the slain accused were members of a banned group.
In Sheikhupura, a proclaimed offender was shot dead another escaped in a shootout with police. An ASI and constable also sustained serious bullet injuries in the firing that occurred in the city locality Arrianwala in wee hours on Thursday.
The police said two POs wanted by the CIA Gujranwala police had holed up in a hideout near Arrianwala locality. Acting on a tip-off, the police besieged the hideout. After seeing the police, the POs opened fire which the police retaliated, killing a PO later identified Shahbaz alias Shahbazo while his accomplice Irfan Butt succeeded in fleeing the scene. ASI Khalilullah and Constable Wali Daad also suffered bullet injuries in the crossfire.
