KASUR-The three-day Urs celebrations of renowned Sufi poet Syed Abdullah Shah, known as Baba Bulleh Shah, will commence here from August 25.
It was disclosed in a meeting held here to review arrangements, being made to facilitate the devotees besides foolproof security arrangements to avert any untoward incident.
DCO Ammara Khan and DPO Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi chaired the meeting which was attended by ADC Muhammad Shahid, DOC Abdul Salam Arif, AC Aslam Shahid, DSP (Saddr) Mirza Arif Baig and DSP (headquarters) Hassan Daniyal.
On the occasion, the DPO assured that foolproof security measures during the Urs celebrations would be made, adding that parking for the vehicles would be established at a distance away from the shrine. The DCO, on the other hand, directed the heads of TMA, Health, Auqaf and other departments concerned to discharge duty with dedication, adding that no indifference on the part of officials would be tolerated.
During the meeting, the schedule of all events to be held during the Urs celebrations, was finalised. According to the schedule, Provincial Minister for Religious Affairs Atta Muhammad Maneka would inaugurate the Urs on August 25. On the first day, a Mehfil-e-Sama, Mehfil-e-Mushaira and Mehfil-e-Naat would be organised. The speech competition, Quran Khwani and Mehfil-e-Sama would be organised on the second day while the Urs would conclude on August 27 with Quran Khwani, Mehfil-e-Sama and scholars' speeches to be delivered to the devotees.
