PESHAWAR - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KPCCI) and the City University of Sciences and Information Technology on Saturday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for fee concession for KPCCI members’ children.

The MoU was signed by KPCCI President Zulfiqar Ali Khan and City University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Attaullah Shah here at Chamber House. Under the MoU a special relief of 20 per cent concession in fee will be given to the children of KPCCI members’ children studying Master of Business Administration (MBA) in City University of Sciences and Information Technology, whereas various industries in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will provide internship opportunities to the students of City University.

KPCCI former president Malik Niaz Ahmad, Chamber senior vice president Ammad Rashid, and Chamber’s Executive Committee members Muhammad Afzal, Sadiq Amin, Abdul Hakeem Shenwari, Muhammad Ishtiaq, Faiz Muhammad, Zia-ul-Haq, Abidullah, Faiz Rasool and Aftab Israr, university’s directors and faculty members along with students attended the MoU singing ceremony.

KPCCI President Zulfiqar welcomed the MoU and said that it will play a pivotal role in strengthening relations between KPCCI and academia. The chamber president further said that strengthening relations between academia and industry is necessary for attracting the youth towards trade and industry along with quality education. He said that to bring awareness among youth seminars, workshops, and meetings on different topics would jointly be organized.

VC City University Prof Dr Attaullah Shah stressed upon the need for quality education along with expanding education system. He said that to develop a better society, research and development would have to be developed.

He also urged upon those related to trade and industry to play their due role in this connection.
