LAHORE - Lahore Hawks outclassed Lahore Rugby Club 12-0 to win the 7s Rugby Tournament organised by the Pakistan Rugby Union (PRU) in collaboration with City District Government Lahore (CDGL) here on Saturday at the Askari 10 Pakistan Rugby Academy to mark the Independence Day.
In first match of the day, Desert Camel thrashed Warriors Gray 24-0, in the second match, DHA Wild Bears routed Keer Rugby Club 19-0, in the third match, Lahore Rugby Football Club outpaced Warriors Gray 24-0, in the fourth match, Lahore Hawks crushed Keer Rugby Club 35-0, in the fifth match, Lahore Rugby Club thumped Desert Camel 21-5 while in the sixth and last league match of the day, Lahore Hawks defeated DHA 14-5.
Six teams from Lahore participated in the event. PRU president Fawzi Khawaja was the chief guest and thanked DCO Lahore M Usman Younis for his generous support for rugby.
Head coach Shakeel Ahmed, manager training and education Syed Mozzam Ali Shah, Punjab rugby secretary Salman, Haji Anwar, Fouzan, Zulfiqar Malhi, Umer Usman, M Babar and former rugby players were also present on the occasion.
