GUJRANWALA-The Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) on Saturday staged a protest demonstration against the Punjab government for not bringing to book those involved in the Model Town killings.
Hundreds of PAT workers gathered at general bus stand under the leadership of Engineer M Rafiq, the divisional coordinator of the party, and Sajid Mehmood Bhatti, its district president. They took out a rally from the bus stand to Sheranwala Bagh while the supporters and activists of PTI, Muslim League (Q), Jamaat-e-Islami and Sunni Itehad Council also attended the rally. The protesters were carrying placards and banners inscribed with slogans against the Punjab government. While addressing the participants, the speakers said that justice was yet to be provided for the families of those killed in Model Town by the police. They also chanted slogans of "Go Nawaz Go", and criticised the government for not taking action against responsible persons of Lahore incident.
