NAB reviews companies cases

LAHORE  -  A National Accountability Bureau meeting was held in Lahore on Monday to review investigations against 55 companies and the Punjab Power Development Company. The NAB chairman chaired the meeting. The meeting also looked into cases relating to offshore companies and a housing society scam against Aleem Khan.

DG NAB Lahore briefed the chairman about the mega corruption cases being investigated by the Bureau and cases referred to by the Supreme Court of Pakistan including 56 public sector companies working in Punjab. The chairman was also briefed about the salaries and perks of chief executives of public and private sectors companies. Apart from that, the chairman was informed about the inquiry on corruption against Usman Saeed, Vice President of National Bank of Pakistan Mall Road branch, Azgard Nine and Agri Tech Limited, investigation against Hammad Arshad, Gulu Beko, DHA City, Khayaban-e-Ameen Housing Society, EOBI, Bank of Punjab.

The chairman asked the investigators to finalise the inquiries without taking any pressure.

In the meanwhile, PTI leader Aleem Khan appeared before NAB investigation team on Monday and recorded his statement. His due date to appear was on August 08 but he appeared at his own and submitted the relevant record sought by NAB authorities.

The NAB has also summoned Shehbaz Sharif on August 20.
