KARACHI - The first death anniversary of Benazir Bhutto will be commemorated with reverence in Sindh, disclosed by the Culture department. The Department of Culture and Tourism Sindh, under the supervision of Provincial Minister Sassi Palejo, is all set to mark the first death anniversary of Benazir with solemnity and respect. The department has chalked out a plan while mushaira, display of sculpture, launch of a magazine and exhibitions have also been held in this regard. Portrait exhibitions of Benazir Bhutto will also be held in five cities of Sindh which include Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana, Mirpurkhas and Karachi. A Sindhi-Urdu mushaira will be held in Hyderabad. Poets will sing laurels of the sacrifices contributed by her in her struggle to bring democracy in the country. While a team of artists is working on a sculpture of Benazir, which will be displayed at the main lobby of the Sindh Museum. Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah will unveil the sculpture. The Department of Culture has also planned to launch a fortnightly magazine, titled "Odyssey" which will be launched in December 2008. The magazine will contain articles on the life, thought and political photography of the slain leader.
