ISLAMABAD -Federal Defence Secretary Lt. Gen.(Retd) Syed Athar Ali said that war against terrorism would be taken to its logical end and Pakistan had no aggressive designs against any one. Addressing the handing over ceremony of modern meteorological gadgets by China to Meteorological Department Pakistan and later talking to media persons here on Saturday Secretary Defence said that Government of Pakistan was thankful to China, as China had played a key-role of elderly-brother to Pakistan, and always stood by Pakistan in time of need. He said that the Government had focused all its attention against the ongoing war against terrorism and expressed the resolve that it would be taken to its logical end. Defence Secretary urged the world community not to doubt Pakistan's commitment toward the menace of terrorism as fighting out terrorists was a must for the very existence of the country. Speaking on the occasion, Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Lou Zhaohui appreciated Pakistan's role to end the recent tension owing to Mumbai's terrorist attacks and urged both countries to boost their comprehensive dialogue process. He added that China saw no threat of war between India and Pakistan. He further said that China was also playing its due role in easing tension between the two neighobuing states and called upon the leadership of both the countries to hammer out their differences through negotiations. Chinese Ambassador reiterated that China would continue its assistance to Pakistan in every field including the defence sector and added that the current grant would further enhance the strategic partnership between the two states. He also said that this grant was part of the agreements that were signed during President Asif Ali Zardari's visit to China. He termed the met gadgets, handed over to Meteorological Department of Pakistan, as "small gift" from people and Government of China for their Pakistani brothers and friends and said the mutual cooperation and relationship between the two states was growing stronger and stronger with the passage of time.
